Welcome to Myvotes Coventry! This site is where we are  voting to find the winning authors in the  2009 Coventry Inspiration Book Awards. Anybody , wherever they live and whatever their age, can vote and submit their opinions on the short-listed books. In our second year we saw a huge increase in the number of votes cast. We are hoping to do even better in our third year!

Our panels have been considering all the nominations and the shortlists for the 2009 Awards have now been chosen. The NEW polls have some really exciting books for you to enjoy in the National Year of Reading!

This site really does have something for everyone in the family! We have polls to find the favourite books for every age-group of children and young people and polls for different genres of books for adults. Just click the links on the left hand side of the screen to take you to the poll that you are interested in. The polls for children and young people are at the top of the list, beginning with Never Too Young for babies from 0-4.

Every week from January 2009, the two books with the least votes in each poll will be eliminated until we have our winners. Winning authors and publishers will be invited to an awards ceremony in Coventry's medieval Guildhall on June 4th 2009.

Above all this site is about enjoying books. We think the books we have chosen are quite simply great reads, designed to "inspire" reading for life!  Here you will also  find the answers to all those " What shall I read next?" questions. Every book in the polls for young people has information about other books by that author and other similar books. The adult polls have lists of other recommended reads in that genre too. So what are you waiting for?
